Hi Reddit!

I’m Gregory Scotiniadis, a filmmaker based in North Carolina. I recently released a horror short film called Silent Screams – a psychological, emotional slow-burn that explores grief, silence, and survival. It’s under 9 minutes and acts as a proof-of-concept for a feature film I’m developing.

We shot the film with an amazing team, in two days, using sound and lighting instead of visual effects to create the tension. The amazing team at Fractured FX helped us bring the creature element to life practically.

I’d love to answer anything — about making short films on a tight budget, directing horror, building suspense without jump scares, or how to use a short to build toward a feature.

Here’s where to watch the film:

Ask me anything!
